Nausea with or without vomiting is one of the most common symptoms of pregnancy, and also one of the most unpleasant. Some women struggle with this symptom for their entire pregnancy while others are only mildly affected during the first couple of weeks. Nausea most often occurs during the first few weeks of pregnancy as the body adjusts to the physical and hormonal changes taking place.
Fatigue is another symptom that generally occurs during the first and third trimesters of pregnancy. Certain activities you had no difficulty performing prior to getting pregnant may now be too tiresome to accomplish. Listen to your body. The laundry will eventually get done. The dust bunnies under the bed can wait to be vacuumed. The first trimester is a critical time in the gestational period. Rest when you can rest. Sleep when you can sleep.
